Do you think there have been any changes on the server side?
Posted:  08 Nov 2008 12:21
I suspect there has been a change on the vendor's server.....although no one there seems to think there has been. In my mind, that is the only thing that could have generated the error. I sent you the log in hopes
that you would come to the same conclusion..............thanks

Interestingly, we got another customer support ticket for the same issue yesterday. In their case it turned out that their partner did do a server update over the weekend and now many other ftp clients were also failing to connect to their server.

I have been asked by the vendor to remove their IP address from the "known hosts" file and retry. Can you tell me where and what that is?
Posted:  08 Nov 2008 12:43
This should happen by default since known hosts are not cached. Could you also ask them (server side) about any updates/changes that were implemented?

Server side did maintenance on 09/24/2007. They have asked us to purge their IP address from the known_host file and retry. We are a Windows shop. I think that is a Unix solution. So does SYSAX using SSH store
the IP address in any file?

I have been requested to create a certificate and use that. Can you offer any help on how to create the certificate? I assume doing that will mean that we need to do a pkeyload command????

We have been able to
connect to the host server with several other FTP tools. Here is the

The program does not cache the IP address. What SSH server is your server host running and what version did they upgrade to? It is very difficult for us to debug the problem without this information.
Posted:  08 Nov 2008 12:59
The vendor is running Secure Transport Version 4.6.1. They will be upgrading to 4.7 in the near future. Please advise what the next step is.

Is there a possibility of us being able to debug this? ie. could we get a temporary user account on the server that we can log into to debug the issue?
Posted:  08 Nov 2008 13:05
Let me contact the vendor and see what we can do. I am in some meetings this morning so I won't have a chance to contact them until this afternoon.

Could you double check the IP address and see if you can successfully log into the account?

We are able to connect.

What FTP client did you use to connect? Our developers have tried about 3 different FTP client programs and have been unable to connect to the server.

Core FTP Lite (GUI)

Can you give me an update on this case?
Thanks

We are not able to connect to the test account even using core ftp lite or any other client.
Here is the output form the core ftp window:
